This course provides an overview of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and the operation of the Hospital Command Center (HCC) during emergencies.

HICS is a standardized management framework used in healthcare settings to manage emergencies and incidents. It establishes a clear chain of command, efficient communication channels, and standardized procedures for resource allocation and incident response. (As discussed previously, tabletop exercises can be used to train staff on HICS procedures and practice decision-making within the HICS framework).
