An effective housekeeping program is an important element in workplace safety and health management systems. The course identifies the potential hazards present and determine ways to eliminate the hazards.


Learning Objectives


Upon completion of this course, you will be able to

  • Describe the hazardous chemicals to which housekeeping employees are exposed.

  • Identify health hazards that are common in the housekeeping industry.

  • Define and describe uses of the various categories of cleaning chemicals.

  • Describe best practices and uses of equipment during housekeeping.

  • Discuss housekeeping employee training requirements.

  • Discuss safe work practices when working with contaminated materials, equipment, work surfaces, and laundry.

  • Describe ergonomic best work practices to prevent musculoskeletal injuries.


Intended audience
