Description
To provide staff with the knowledge and resources required to understand their roles and responsibilities in emergency management. To acquire the required skills in emergency planning, response and recovery.
Emergency preparedness involves developing and implementing plans to effectively respond to a wide range of potential emergencies, including natural disasters (floods, earthquakes),
utility failures (power outages, IT outages), bomb threats, workplace violence, and other critical incidents.
This includes:
Developing emergency response plans.
Conducting regular drills and exercises (including tabletop exercises as discussed earlier) to test the effectiveness of these plans.
Establishing communication protocols.
Ensuring adequate resources are available to manage emergencies.
